The joys of Wood!

http://areaware.com/default.asp
Just thought I'd show you some of the latest offerings of my favourite Design store Areaware.
They are a New York based interior accessories brand, and have a mixture of exciting products and designers.
Today I bring to you the "Joy of Wood" in the form of some of their new items that are made out of wood!

And one that's not made out of wood but I want so badly!

Enjoy!

Life - A funny feeling in your belly

Well for today that is how my belly is feeling in response to life.
It feels like there is a litter of kittens pouncing around in there.

But apart from that it is Monday and a brand new start to the week, and December, how very exciting.
Thought I'd share some more of my work, the following are projects I completed for a sourcing company for the Luxury Beauty market, enjoy!

This range was created as a promotional concept for D&G's the One perfume.
I hope you like, (much more corporate, but defiantly interesting).

The most exciting thing I have found in ages!

So whilst out shopping this afternoon I stumbled across this beauty >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
A wonderful Harris tweed Blazer (men's)

This Blazer almost brought me to tears, the graphic of the tweed, the Harris logo embossed buttons, (and pin I found in the sewn up pocket), the silk lining, and the suede patches on the elbows (current trend see the GANT post). Although the elbow patches may become an annoying trend, these can be removed.
Happiness in a commodity!

My only issue is that tweed looks far better on Men than women.
Enjoy!

Kanye West - Runaway (Full-length Film)

I'm lost in the woods---na not really

So I have been trying my best not to write the post as he has most certainly got enough press and cash rolling in, but you have to give credit where credit due. So Mr West you've made a fantastic album, it's disturbing at times, fantastically exhilarating, and mystifying. I think it's probably going to be the latest addiction of Miss Sack Maker.

See "Runaway" video in the following post, a visual masterpiece my only criticism is with the costume of "bird-girl" it's truly beautiful I think it was created by Phillip Lim, interesting choice, it's gorgeous but the girl's front isn't covered enough for my liking

Anyway enjoy the album, you can listen to most of it for free on you tube so why not. Highlights = "Into the World", and " Turn on the lights".

Amazing post check it out: FLAT20A: Womb

FLAT20A: Womb: "xx CJ"

Everything gets Luminous!

Open Saturdays 12-6pm
at George Polke
3.5 Frederick Terrace E8 4EW

louisa@luminousbooks.co.uk

This place is totally amazing! (ok I'm a bit rubbish and haven't been yet). However my trusted flatmate, Rachel, went along a couple of weeks ago and raved about, therefore I knew it was to be the new Gem of the east, maybe (and only slightly) like the Tuesday Society http://www.thelasttuesdaysociety.org/
However the concept of this store excites me.The creator Louisa Bailey created it to share her love of all things luminous. I applaud this, as what a wonderful and honest thing to pick for a start. Plus the moon is pretty wholesome, also I grew up with Button Moon, (the best kid's show, in the UK ever, well apart from the Raccoons but that came later : ) )http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu0o6u1VmGE

Last Saturday (20th of November) Louisa had a Moon styled event.........

Looks like a great event, a great shame I missed it.

So you and I don't miss a thing with this gem, check out Louisa's blog for updates, interesting posts, and fun facts!

Jasper and his fantastical life drawing class

It is a shame that I have not written about this sooner as this is one of my great passions in life currently. It is the life drawing class I have attended for two terms now, taught by one of the best art tutor I have ever had (and that's saying something as I have had a lot as some of the best London institutes for art and design! Not in a cocky way : ) )
John Sloan, great art tutor, New York!
Here is the link to the facebook page.

Basically the issue is, not enough people have heard about this class and Tower Hamlets council are threatening to shut it down (as they would probably rather spend the arts budget on the flipping Fireworks, that gets them good press, whereas this travesty will only get them bad press!)
Where Tower Hamlets would rather spend their arts budget, cost = £106000
We can't let them shut it down, but also more importantly people should join.
It's been the best class I've been too, it's super good value, and Jasper is such a character everyone should meet him! (no lie) (p.s. I shall get more images : ) )

I have learnt things I didn't imagine I would, and the things I thought I would have, have been a pleasure, enjoyable, and rather quick, I can now draw a nude within 5 mins and get her in proportion, her feet and hands no longer look like spades and she has a humanistic volume, therefore all boxes ticked!

For further information about the class please join the facebook group above, call the Ideas Store on 020 7364 5665
